Be sure to read the previous part first..
The morning was a lazy affair, by the time we woke up at 8 our friends were stepping out to work. A series of instructions followed and all I had was one question -” Where is the damn Sun? it’s still so dark!”.
The sun decided not to show itself that day but it did get bright at 10, when we finally thought it was safe enough to step outside. We headed to the bus stand to catch our ride, where we met a nice gentleman who was well into happy hours!
He professed that I looked like a scientist and that I should marry a Swedish girl, apparently they are tall, looked at my wife and said – Just kidding, just kidding! All this while he was trying to convince the girl next to us to ask her mother to divorce her father to marry him. The logic being that she was a sweet girl so her mother would have to be a nice woman, rather straight forward logic!
While we were having this interesting conversation waiting for the bus another person didn’t quite appreciate this loud conversation and frowned, the nice gentleman went on to tell her, “Don’t be so serious, be happy. It’s Christmas!” . Our conversation was cut short by the bus which took us to the Gothenburg museum
The remains of a Viking Ship, with Oden and Thor looking down on it from the first floor. A replica of Gustav’s ships and “The Executioner”, blade with a blunt top used to decapitate people. Must have weighed a ton!
The next place on our touristy agenda was Universeum – we wanted to head to the water section, assuming we would know everything about the tropical forest, after all we come from the tropics!
We found Nemo, again! Seems to be a habit every trip now. We were pleasantly surprised by the stuff in the tropical forest section. Must be such a joy for the kids!
I found solace in the fact that the Sloth is actually lazier than me! The horn bill was extremely excitable and zig zagging its way inside the tent. A place you shouldn’t miss. We went inside when there was bright sunshine and we came out by 4 to find the place pitch dark! Walked out to this

Liseberg, although its pronounced Lisaberry! The rides looked tempting but with the sun down we just somehow felt we should head home although it was just 4!
The next day was spend just walking around town and enjoying the food, sights and sounds( or lack of it) in Gothenburg
The best way to get around the city

A typical busy day in Gothenburg
Other random sights of Gothenurg before he headed to our over night( and day) train to Kiruna!
Our friends decided we were needed to be fed and went and bought us the most delicious kanelbullar(Cinamon buns) and Skolebrod(Vanilla custard buns). Yeah, they were that good, I am still salivating!
And then our hunt started for the Green!
