The Sky & Ice show

Please read the previous part….

It was actually quite arrogant of us, the highlight of the trip was supposed to be the Northern lights and we stayed only 2 nights in Kiruna. As if the Aurora has a duty to show itself the day we visit.

But well, the clouds parted and show began, it was first like this

And then we had the full show go on for the next half hour, the fact that our nose, toes and fingers were going numb was forgotten! All to get that one good snap with the Aurora in the background. We took turns posing

And I managed to click a couple of good shots in between posing for photos myself!

The show came to an end when the clouds decided to make its presence felt, the drive back was content and all of us dozed off. Hopefully we didn’t snore!

MK dropped us of at 1 in the morning, we thanked him profusely for everything

It snowed the whole night and we got up to this!

A superb breakfast spread at Camp Ripan followed, somehow the breakfast snaps seem to have come out well!

We had sunlight for all of 20 mins that day! We decided to make the best use of it as we headed out for a walk.

The Ice hotel was on the agenda for the day so we visited it, even though the it wasn’t fully complete.

It’s all made of Ice!

Some of the cold rooms!

We decided to warm ourselves with something from the Ice Hotel 360 Bar, the glasses were made of ice, the table of ice and the stools also, Ice!

The next day, we had our flight back, its beautiful little airport where the aircraft comes right up the door step and parks for you to get in.

Next stop was Stockholm, Next Page…..
